Benahavis is a mountain village located 7 km from the coast. It is located between Marbella, Estepona and Ronda. Although it is called the dining room of the Costa del Sol because of its multitude of restaurants and bars, it is one of the typical white towns of Andalusia with a remarkable Arab past. From the castle of Montemayor, one can enjoy spectacular views of the Costa del Sol.
Located in the south of the Serrania de Ronda, Benahavis is the most mountainous town on the Western Costa del Sol. The rivers that cross the territory are called Guadalmina, Guadaiza and Guadalmansa.
Benahavis mixes the typical traditional white villages of the province of Málaga with the modernity of the 21st century tourism infrastructures. The municipality gathers a dozen golf courses, diverse resources for the practice of adventure sports in a beautiful natural environment and a varied gastronomic offer.
The famous River Walk is really a must do! An amazing & beautiful River Walk followed by tapas in Benahavis!
The route takes about 2 hours and that is plenty of time for fun too! The route is rocky and slippery, so water shoes with great grip are recommended. As you will be in and out of the water, it is best to wear your swimwear and a light t-shirt over it. You need to be able to swim, but it is not difficult. It is an amazing and gorgeous adventure!
Good to know: it is a public free walk.
